Crates Anatomy
Crates Anatomy is an evolving lineup of DJs, producers, and live musicians established by LeRoy Brown and Doug "Sullivan Watts" Therow in 2007. The team has worked in a variety of DJ and live arrangements over the years with collaborative partners Abdias Garcia (drums, bass, percussion) and Lee Ritter (Students of Science) on guitar and effects.
Crates heavily assaulted the Florida airwaves from 2007 onward through a series of live radio performances on the Underground Railroad (89.7 WVFS) and Filtered Sunshine (91.5 WPRK) programs, as well as consistent appearances at block parties, nightclubs, and studios from Tallahassee to Miami.
Musically the group is known for improvisational, genre bending sets, through the combined elements of hip hop, electronic music, raw breaks, jazz, and melodic ambience. An upcoming release on Research Deluxe is anticipated as early as summer 2010.
