The Caltones
They know how to get the job done. Whether it’s jazz, funk, soul, blues, hip hop, or just plain grooves, The Caltones are doin’ their thing…
The group formed early 2008 in Orlando, FL while working together at an educational media company, quickly prepared their first set, and hit the road for 89.7 WVFS (Tallahassee) to make their initial debut. With this first live appearance just weeks after their initial rehearsal, there was definitely going to be a few bugs, yet The Caltones were up to the occasion.
The Caltones are comprised of Tommy Calton (the funk mastermind- guitars, pedal steel, arrangement) Lee Ritter (guitar, ambiance, effects) Jason Diana (bass) Nik Ritchie (drums) Bill Bradley (keyboards) LeRoy Brown (scratches, production) as well as Brendan Cusker who is their primary recording engineer.
To date the group has only played a handful of live dates together. As of early 2010, they are split between New York, Vermont, and Florida, yet managed to finish their EP for Research Deluxe, which is currently being prepared for mixing and mastering and will be released mid-late 2010.
